United Way Young Philanthropists Announce Four Finalists for Mentor of the Year

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The United Way of Greenville County Young Philanthropists announced today that Michael Boliek of Elliott Davis, Mary Jeffrey of CertusBank, Dan Sterling of Windstream Communications and Jim Terry of Hollingsworth Funds are the Inaugural Mentor of the Year Finalists. The 2012 winner will be named during the Mentor of the Year Awards Ceremony, presented by Michelin North America, on Thursday, Feb 23rd at the TD Convention Center in Greenville.

The Mentor of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have mentored young professionals in Greenville County during their professional careers, served as a wise and trusted counselor, or acted as an influential supporter. The keynote speaker of the 7:00 pm awards dinner will be Coach Herman Boone, who was faced with a substantial challenge when three high schools in Alexandria, VA were integrated to form T.C. Williams High School. This inspirational story is the center of Disney film Remember the Titans starring Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington as Coach Boone.

Tickets to the Mentor of the Year Awards Ceremony to honor all nominees and to name the 2012 Mentor of the Year are available for $30.00 and can be purchased by contacting Carrie Morningstar at 864-467-3528 or cmorningstar@unitedwaygc.org.
