Nickelodeon Theatre Hosts Oscar Party and Screens Oscar-Nominated Films

COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 3, 2012) – The Nickelodeon Theatre, South Carolina’s only non-profit art house theater, will host its annual Oscar Party on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The theme of this year’s event is “The Artist Meets Bridesmaids,” and local celebrities Patti O’Furniture and Anne Postic (The Shop Tart) will host the party and award prizes for best dressed.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for red carpet arrivals and pre-show commentary. Party attendees should come decked out in black, white and pink, with a dash of old Hollywood mixed with Bridesmaid-inspired attire. Guests will enjoy beer, wine and signature drinks, and Drip Coffee of Columbia will provide heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts. The Academy Awards will start at 7:00 p.m. and guests will watch the awards on the Nick’s big screen.

Only 75 seats are available for this popular annual party. Tickets are on sale now and will start at $35 for Nickelodeon Theatre members and $40 for non-members.

The Nickelodeon Theatre will also screen Academy Award-nominated film, The Artist, through Thursday, Feb. 16. Oscar-nominated short films will also screen.

2/11, 2:30 p.m.: Live action shorts
2/12, 2:30 p.m.: Documentary shorts
2/18, 3 p.m.: Animation shorts
2/19, 2:30 p.m.: Live action shorts
