EO Charlotte Entrepreneurs Focus on What Matters Most with Author Mike Maddock

Free The Idea Monkey is Basis for EO Charlotte Member Discussion

CHARLOTTE, NC – March 6, 2012 – EO Charlotte, a chapter of the globally recognized Entrepreneurs’ Organization, gave its members an opportunity to brainstorm about what matters most in creating ideas and giving them life in a lunch event held at Osso Restaurant and Lounge earlier today.
At today’s exclusive lunch with Free the Idea Monkey author Mike Maddock, members were offered these ideas:
• Distinguishing between big idea people and the ones who make sure the most important ideas happen
• Developing the innovator’s mindset
• Understanding key innovation truisms that the best companies have discovered
• Getting the most out of idea people and those who make the ideas happen

Mike Maddock, a fellow EOer (EO Chicago) who showed today’s participants how to manage the healthy and essential tension between the divergent and convergent thinkers on business ownsers’ teams.
“We’re on a continuous search to create valuable learning experiences for members. Bringing Mike to Charlotte to explore innovation and idea generation was something we were very excited about. Today’s discussion delivered invaluable information to each of our entrepreneur business owners,” said EO Charlotte Education Chair and President of Hendrick Construction, Roger Hendrick.
“I listened to Mike Maddock's presentation at GLC 2011 in Chicago and was blown away. I've heard many speakers at EO Universities, EO/MIT EMP (entrepreneurial masters program) and Maddock is one of the very best I've ever heard,” said Dan Peck, EO Charlotte member and Finance Chair and Founder of FileVault. “I devoured his book Brand New after I heard him the first time. Mike has built a 100-person company, and he's an absolute expert on innovation."
