South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics Kicks Off Berkeley iTEAMS 2012
The Governor’s School for Science and Math (GSSM) will take its distinguished Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship Among Middle Schoolers summer camp, iTEAMS, to Berkeley County on Monday, July 9. The camp will run for two consecutive weeks at Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner: July 9 - 12 and July 16 - 19.
Dedicated to channeling young learners toward careers in the fields of computer science, technology and entrepreneurship through hands-on, team-based projects, iTEAMS offers an enrichment experience to rising 8th and 9th graders from all Berkeley County middle schools. The summer camp is a partnership between GSSM, the Berkeley County School District and private supporters that is designed to guide eager, tech-minded students toward enhanced technological literacy and innovation. GSSM aims to expand iTEAMS to more SC counties in the near future.
Members of the media are invited to attend an iTEAMS closing ceremony on either Thursday, July 12, or Thursday, July 19, at 2 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place in the Berkeley High School Auditorium, 406 West Main Street, in Moncks Corner.
