A database of local technology companies is about to become reality.
The Midlands Technology Directory, a project of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce's Information Technology Council, will be launched May 8 at the Palmetto Pillar Awards.
The awards, sponsored by the ITC, are given for technology achievements in the Midlands. The ITC is receiving help with the directory from the city and the S.C. Technology Alliance.
The database is one of Mayor Bob Coble's key items for the first year of the
five-year regional technology development plan.
The directory, which will be available on the Web and in CD form, lists
companies that provide technology products and services to that industry.
Companies that would like to be listed should e-mail Trish Ballington at
tballington@easybenefits.com. Listings are free.
