Al Pollard Inducted Into Providence Hospitals’ Prestigious Heritage Society

GREENVILLE, SC — William (“Al”) Pollard, a Member of Nexsen Pruet in Columbia, has been inducted into the Heritage Society of Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals.

The society, established in 2003, recognizes individuals who have given generously of their time, talent, and knowledge to further the mission of the hospitals.

In addition to representing Providence for more than 30 years, Pollard has been involved in development of the hospitals’ open-heart program; the expansion and construction of Providence Hospital Northeast; and implementation of new strategic partners.

“My relationship with Providence has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” Pollard said. “While I am deeply honored to be inducted into the society, I am equally honored to have had this opportunity to give something back to the hospitals in particular – and the community in general.”

His work with Providence also includes co-founding Healthy Learners, an organization that provides over 400 medical services annually to children in need. In January 2002 the Sisters of Charity presented him with the first-ever “In All Things Charity” award for his work with Healthy Learners.

Pollard has broad experience in the general corporate area, health care, employee benefits, administrative law, and legislative areas. Additionally, he has worked extensively with long-term care service providers on matters that include regulation and licensure, acquisitions and dispositions, and general legal issues relating to long-term care. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America for health care.
