Asheville-Buncombe Office of Minority Affairs Uses Local Consultant for
Training

Janet Christy, President of Leverage & Development, LLC, has been tapped by the
Asheville-Buncombe Office of Minority Affairs (OMA) to conduct workshops in
their 2005 training series.

The Asheville-Buncombe OMA works to widen opportunities for minority owned
businesses by providing certification, exposure, training and mentoring.

Christy will be conducting three workshops: ''Capitalizing on Being
Woman/Minority Owned'' on January 14, ''''Teaming, Partnering and Subcontracting
for Small Businesses'' on March 18, and ''Business Communication Skills'' on June
3.

Leverage & Development, LLC specializes in marketing research, planning and
training for Woman and Minority Owned Business. The firm also works with
government, education and non-profit entities in grant writing, economic
development projects and vendor negotiation.

Christy will also be conducting workshops for Woman and Minority Owned
Businesses in 2005 for Piedmont, Trident and Spartanburg Technical Colleges.
