Awards Breakfast Honoring Local Entrepreneurs Set for June 8

March 29, 2007, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), with its other hosting partners, announced today that nominations are open for the 11th Annual Coastal Small Business Awards: Celebrating Entrepreneurial Excellence. The winners will be announced at the annual awards breakfast on Friday, June 8 at the UNCW Warwick Center.

There are several categories in which companies can compete:

* Young Entrepreneur
* Innovative Entrepreneur
* Emerging Entrepreneur
* Established Entrepreneur

For the first time this year, several coastal chambers are participating, and will present an award to an outstanding company in their geographic area. These chambers include the Greater Topsail Island Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Hampstead Chamber of Commerce, and the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will also present a small business advocate award.

Last year’s winners were Hunter Brown of Blowing In The Wind, Richard Trio of Triovisions, Evan Folds of Progressive Gardens, and Brad Donnell of Linprint Company, plus a special Outstanding Economic Impact Award to Ken Dull of McKinley Building.
