Charleston Digital Corridor has a slick new Web site

DIGITAL UPGRADE
The Charleston Digital Corridor, a city economic development initiative aimed
at the "knowledge-based industry," has a slick new Web site. The site is
similar to the old one, only much deeper and wider. Specifically, it has more
news links and real estate listings. It will eventually have a forum where
jobseekers can post resumes.
The reconfigured site is part of the organization's transition from a public
body to a quasi-public body -- the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation,
which was officially started as a sort of auxiliary arm of the corridor in
mid-June. Under the foundation model, city money will only pay salaries and
administrative expenses and, for the first time, the group is accepting public
donations to help recruit, retain and generally make happy tech-focused
businesses.
