CMARK International Details Market Opportunity and Strategic Expansion Plan
COLUMBIA, S.C., June 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMARK International, Inc. (Pink Sheets: CMKI), a leading Service-disabled Veteran-owned Small Business (SDVOSB) provider of services and products in the areas of construction, interior systems and hospitality operations to federal government institutions and facilities, today announced its long-term strategic expansion plan to capture a substantial portion of its large U.S. government-mandated market.
As one of few well-established federal procurement service franchises with SDVOSB status, CMARK addresses the market need created by the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003 (Public Law 108-183) which requires U.S. government agencies and prime contractors to earmark three percent of all federal procurement dollars for high quality SDVOSB firms. With domestic procurement spending by military and government facilities amounting to approximately $300 billion annually, including nearly every category of commodity and service available, CMARK is securing a growing share of the vast market represented by the $9 billion PL 108-183 statutory goal.
Founded in 2000 by Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Charles W. Jones, Jr., CMARK has provided goods and services to more than 600 federal government customers around the world and typically completes more than 150 individually contracted projects on an annual basis for such end users as the Pentagon, the White House and Halliburton. CMARK combines an extensive product line and top notch servicing capabilities with worldwide application knowledge of all types of military bases, hospitals, prisons, schools, office buildings, embassies and military vessels. Through a wide ranging product and service suite, the Company provides one-stop, full- service solutions through well-established customer relationships with the U.S. Government Department of Defense, non-DOD agencies and U.S. Government prime contractors.
"CMARK's strong and long standing relationships within the government sector are helping to facilitate the growth of our new business pipeline," said Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Charles W. Jones, Jr. "We are well-known throughout government procurement circles, and our well established infrastructure and international reach provides us flexibility in entering new markets and addressing new areas of need rapidly and effectively.
"Significant recent achievements within several of our business divisions are driving expansion within our key target markets," Jones continued. "For example, through our involvement in procurement relating to the Iraq occupation and our experience in servicing the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, including contracts with Halliburton and the Department of Homeland Security, our objective is to capture an increasing share of the disaster and contingency portion of the federal budget. We are also leveraging a significant backlog of design and build contracts to negotiate larger contracting packages for the U.S. Government."
Business Opportunity and Growth Plan
CMARK is employing the following strategies to expand its market share and enhance its visibility as the premier source for U.S. Government buyers to locate and purchase products and services worldwide:
* Increase Outreach to Primary Federal Government Points-of-Entry for
Procurement Opportunities -
U.S. General Services Administration (www.gsa.gov) certification gives
the Company access to thousands of Federal government buyers, and, in
several cases, CMARK is noted as the GSA contractor of choice. The U.S.
Small Business Association, Office of Veterans Business Development,
estimates that those companies on the GSA schedule typically receive
three-times the number of Federal contracts than non-GSA sanctioned
SDVOSBs. In addition to the GSA and GSA Federal Supply Service
(www.fss.gsa.gov), CMARK has identified several other avenues for new
business development, including the Federal Business Opportunities
website (www.fedbizopps.gov), which lists hundreds of opportunities for
SDVOSB firms.
* Diversify Supplier Base for Product Marketing -
Several strategic alliances provide CMARK the exclusive worldwide sales
rights to broad and diverse product lines. By adding three new sales
offices and doubling our sales force at the beginning of this year,
management believes that existing and future alliances focused in key
target market sectors (construction, maintenance and hospitality) will
result in revenue growth beginning this year.
* Expand Geographic Footprint -
CMARK seeks to do business with federal government offices around the
world and plans to take advantage of expansion opportunities in Japan,
Hawaii and Korea over the next [specific time frame]. Longer term, the
Company has identified [Southwest Asia and Great Britain] as targets for
increased sales coverage.
Financial Performance and Operational Objectives
CMARK has achieved an average annual revenue growth rate of 58% since 2002, and is targeting sales of approximately $30 million by 2008 compared to $12.6 million in 2005 and $5.0 million in 2004. CMARK achieved profitability in 2005 with net income of $1.3 million.
Near-term objectives for CMARK include:
* Double the number of GSA Advantage program products listed by CMARK
through the U.S. General Services Administration by year-end 2006.
* Achieve target segment expansion through quarterly increases in
construction, maintenance and hospitality contracts.
* Maintain gross margin in excess of 20% for 2006.
* Maintain profitability.
