COLUMBIA, S.C. – April 10, 2001 – The Columbia Information Technology Council
(ITC) today announced the availability of student memberships. Any student
enrolled in a degree-earning program at a Midlands-area university, college, or
technical school is eligible to pay the $35 membership fee and receive all of
the benefits afforded individual members.

''From the beginning, the ITC has recognized the need to involve information
technology students,'' said Cheryl Seminara, ITC marketing chairperson. ''They're
capable of bringing a fresh viewpoint to our business development discussions.
This program marks the first step of the organization's education initiative,
as we make the ITC accessible to everyone who stands to benefit from
membership.''

Students and individuals receive several benefits from membership, including:
- Listing in the membership directory
- Listing in the annual Resource Book
- Listing in the Membership section of the ITC Website
- Notification of all ITC events

''There are many intangibles included in this membership, said Ike McLeese,
president of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. ''The ability to approach
business leaders to discuss concepts and operations can greatly enhance a
student's perspective. These businesspeople have many experiences to share, and
they are eager to hear students' views as well.''

Students interested in membership are encouraged to attend the ITC's premier
networking event hosted by Adelphia Business Solutions, 1901 Main Street, on
April 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
