Columbia Information Technology Council To Receive IT Sales Guidance
COLUMBIA, S.C. January 23, 2002 The Columbia Information Technology Council
(ITC) today announced that Pat Healy of Sales Performance International will be
the speaker for the monthly noontime luncheon January 30, at The Greater
Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Healy will offer advice to technology managers
and sellers, addressing their concerns in a conversational forum.
"Throughout my consulting career, I've found that technology sales hinge on the
ability to communicate effectively," said Healy, a 20-year sales and sales
management veteran who also serves as a visiting professor at the Darla Moore
Graduate School of Business at the University of South Carolina. "Because
technology is rarely simple, it's best to help the buyer discover for himself
why your technology solves his problem best."
Persons planning to attend the luncheon should RSVP to Mike Lee of the Greater
Columbia Chamber of Commerce, either by phone at (803) 733-1117 or emailing
mlee@gcbn.com. All responses should be received no later than noon on January
29. ITC members eat free, while visitors pay $10 at the door.
"It's not easy selling technology to non-technical buyers," said ITC Chairman
Cheryl Seminara. "Trying to convince a buyer to move forward with technology
purchases in a soft economy is virtually impossible. But I believe Pat will
provide some valuable guidance."
