Companion Technologies Launches Companion PM Practice Management System

Companion Technologies Launches Companion PM Practice Management System

COLUMBIA, S.C., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Companion Technologies this month
introduces Companion PM, a browser-based physician practice management system
that replaces the company's previous MegaWest Medical Management Suite.
Companion PM is the result of extensive reengineering to incorporate new
technologies and functionality that allow it to run in a "virtual environment"
to support future Application Service Provider (ASP) product offerings. It
also encrypts source code and data streams to ensure HIPAA compliance.
"Companion PM takes the best of the 20 years of development that went into
our previous product and brings it into a browser-based user environment. This
change in architecture makes it a more flexible option for practices that are
on multiple platform technologies," said Companion Technologies President
Harvey Galloway.
Companion PM is a fully integrated practice management system designed to
help physician practices improve productivity, efficiency and levels of care.
Distinguishing characteristics include its scalability and modular design,
allowing it to be tailored to a practice's exact needs. It also uses tools
that are SQL, HL7 and ODBC compliant, giving it flexible system architecture.
Its operating system and platform independence enable practices to use their
existing hardware, and its IBM relational database gives practices reporting
capabilities not found in other systems.
Companion PM is an A/R billing and reporting, collections, patient master,
claims processing, and appointment scheduling system. The system offers
optional modules for orthopedic practices, health centers, anesthesiology,
allergy management, advanced collections, patient care tracking, document and
image management, and electronic remittance of claims.
Companion PM joins Companion Technologies' product line that includes
electronic medical records Companion EMR and hospital claims system Companion
EnterprisEDI. Companion Technologies ( http://www.companiontechnologies.com )
has
aligned with leading industry vendors, including IBM and Sun Microsystems, to
deliver healthcare data management services to its clients.
