Columbia Information Technology Council Schedules Luncheon for August 21

Conita CEO considers Columbia an ideal location

COLUMBIA, S.C. – August 16, 2001 – The Columbia Information Technology Council
(ITC) today announced that Jeff McElroy, CEO of Conita Technologies, will
address the organization's monthly luncheon, discussing his reasons for
choosing Columbia as his company's home. The noon luncheon will be held August
21, 2001, at The R.L. Bryan Company on Greystone Boulevard. (See parking
instructions below.) Persons planning to attend should RSVP to Mike Lee at
(803) 733-1117 or email at mlee@gcbn.com.

"Conita is a wonderful success story for Columbia," said ITC Chairperson Cheryl
Seminara. "Jeff finds Columbia to be an attractive location for starting – and
growing – Conita's headquarters. He has recognized the many benefits of keeping
his company in Columbia, including the quality of life and ease of conducting a
multi-national business here."

"I had the opportunity to place my business in the Silicon Valley," said
McElroy, "but Columbia is home for me. There have been several challenges to
establishing an IT business here, I'll admit, but I've found them to be both
interesting and rewarding. I continue to believe I made the right decision and
look forward to the ability to continue to call Columbia home."
