Instructions for Presenting Companies and Researchers at InnoVenture Southeast
Congratulations on being selected to present at InnoVenture Southeast 2009! Following are some logistical details regarding your presentation:
Deadlines
January 29, 2009
- Deadline for receipt of presentation applications from Emerging Companies and Researchers
February 27, 2009
- Presenting companies and researchers selected and announced
March 2-6 and March 9-13
- Company Presentation Reviews and Coaching – all company presenters are required to attend a one-hour review/coaching session during the above period. Presenters should bring a draft of their presentation to the session
March 6, 2009
- Registration Deadline - All attendees must be registered for name badge creation.
- Logistics forms due (see below)
March 17, 2009
- Your final presentation, in MS PowerPoint format, is due no later than 5PM this day. This must also include the full name and title of your presenter.

We look forward to your presentation at the InnoVenture Southeast conference. While there is no cost for your presentation time or exhibit space; we do ask that each of your attendees register for the conference to cover the cost of the program.

Your Presentation
Our goal is for you to make a successful presentation at InnoVenture Southeast 2009. Over five annual conferences, we have now seen 70 entrepreneur presentations and have learned a few things about successful ones. The rules below apply even if you have significant experience presenting to investors.
- Parameters: A 10 slide, 8 minute presentation. No exceptions. Presentations will be cut at precisely 8 minutes.
- Please remember: It's an elevator pitch. No Video. No Audio. No Eyecharts

- Presentation Tips: We highly recommend two posts about pitch presentations at Guy Kawasaki's blog: The 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint and The Entrepreneur's New Year's Resolution: "I Will Fix My Pitch", as well as an excellent website on effective presentations, Presentation Zen.
- Deadline: All presentations must be submitted by March 17 in Microsoft PowerPoint format. If presentation is too large to e-mail, a CD of the presentation must be received by this date.
- AV Equipment: InnoVenture will provide all Audio Visual equipment and microphones.
- Changes: PLEASE NOTE: No changes can be made to your presentation at the conference.
Innovation Hall Exhibitor Logistics
All Companies and Researchers making presentations will be allotted a table for exhibit space in the Innovation Hall. However, the parameters and logistics for this space have not been finalized. You will be notified during the first week of March about the details of your exhibit space.
