What is Advanced Materials Forum?
Major industry partners, led by Milliken, Michelin and Zeus, and major academic and research partners, including Clemson, USC, UNC Charlotte, and SCRA, have developed the Materials Forum to identify new materials that can lead to new business. Priorities of these partners include both identifying new materials that can enhance products they currently sell, and identifying new markets for materials they have developed.
The goal of the Advanced Materials Forum is be the first meeting of an ongoing community of industry and academic professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and service providers working together in their mutual self-interest to connect those with great ideas related to advanced materials with the expertise, resources and customers they need to succeed.
The Forum is designed for attendees to connect with those who have materials technologies and market expertise. Lunch will include a panel discussion moderated by Nexsen Pruet on overcoming cultural, institutional, and legal barriers to creating a culture of open innovation. The panel will be followed by a round robin discussion by all attendees of the most important opportunities for the region. Entrepreneurial companies who are alumni of past InnoVenture conferences will provide an update on their progress. The Forum will end with a wrap-up by the Materials Steering Committee of the next steps to move from discussion to action.
