The James E. Clyburn University Transportation Center will host its first FIRST Vex Challenge Robotics Competition on Friday, February 10, 2006. The competition will be held on the campus of South Carolina State University and will include a full day of activities.

The FIRST Vex Challenge Robotics Competition is a pilot, mid-level robotics competition for high school students. It offers the traditional challenge of a FIRST competition, but with a more accessible and affordable robotics kit. The FIRST Vex Challenge is an outgrowth of the existing FIRST Robotics Competition; an exciting, multi-national competition that teams professionals and young people to solve engineering design problems in an intense and competitive way.

We encourage the South Carolina State University faculty, staff and students to come and support this competition. Please contact Mr. Lamar Tisdale at (803) 536-8863 for additional information.
