Governor Holds Cabinet Meeting Focusing on IT Improvements
CABINET DIRECTORS TO DISCUSS, DEMONSTRATE IT IMPROVEMENTS; GOVERNOR TO ALSO ADDRESS BEAUFORT ROTARY TOMORROW
Columbia, S.C. - August 22, 2006 - Governor Mark Sanford announced today that he will hold the 40th Cabinet meeting of his administration tomorrow morning (Wednesday, August 23) in Columbia. During the meeting, Cabinet directors and representatives from the S.C. Web Portal will outline and demonstrate recent improvements to South Carolina's information technology systems. A recent Brown University study ranked South Carolina as having the 17th best Web presence among the states, up from 43rd one year ago. The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Statehouse complex (Wade Hampton Building, 1st Floor, Governor's Conference Room).
Also tomorrow, Gov. Sanford will be in the Lowcountry to address the monthly meeting of the Beaufort Rotary Club. The meeting begins at 12:15 p.m., and will be held at the Beaufort Ramada (2001 Boundary Street, Beaufort).
