“Incoterms Made Easy” Seminar to be held in Greenville
Columbia, SC – Incoterms are the globally recognized, official rules for trade terminology. Understanding these terms is crucial to any business that is currently exporting or beginning an export program. The South Carolina Department of Commerce is hosting a three-hour workshop dedicated to helping companies grasp this often confusing terminology on Thursday, December 8 from 9:00 am to noon at Greenville Technical College.
Kathy Edwards, president of Global Business Solutions, will use her unique teaching method to make this subject simple and easy to understand.
“We hosted this event in Columbia earlier this year, and we had such a good response that we wanted to have Ms. Edwards share her expertise in the upstate,” says Amy Thomson, International Trade Manager with the South Carolina Department of Commerce. “It’s rare to have one of the less exciting topics of international trade covered in an entertaining and easy-to-understand fashion,” she adds.
The seminar will also include discussions on pro forma invoices and the role of international freight forwarders, insurance and shipping to companies that export. It will take place in the Buck Mickel Center Auditorium in room 188 at Greenville Technical College, located at 216 S Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville.
Additional sponsors for the seminar include the Greenville and Columbia U.S. Export Assistance Centers of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Buck Mickel Center at Greenville Technical College and the South Carolina District Export Council.
Registration is $55 per person and payable by cash or check the door. Please make checks payable to SCDEC. (No shows will be invoiced). Interested participants can register online at
