Awards are presented annually in six categories: Technology Development, Technology Application, Innovation in Education, Community Service, Small Enterprise and the Dr. Charles Townes Individual Achievement Award. Companies and organizations located in the South Carolina Upstate region and the counties of Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union are eligible to participate.
