LGA Thin Film RF Inductor Provides Tight Tolerances, High Q in Small Case Size

Miniature Thin Film RF Inductor Offers Superior High Frequency Performance

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Based on thin-film multilayer technology, AVX Corporation has developed an 0402 Land Grid Array (LGA) Inductor that provides high Q and tight tolerances with high current handling capability and repeatability. The LGA packaging is miniature in size and provides both high frequency performance and rugged construction for reliable automatic assembly for applications such as mobile communications, satellite TV receivers, GPS, vehicle location systems, wireless LANs, filters and matching networks.

“The L0402 Inductor is particularly well-suited for the telecommunication industry, where there is a continuing trend towards miniaturization and increased frequency,” said Larry Eisenberger, AVX product manager. “The LGA 0402 Inductor, which is the thin film equivalent of wire-wound inductors, is capable of making any value in the range at tolerances that are much tighter than those offered by wire-wound. The LGA offers an inherent low profile, excellent solderability and better heat dissipation, while allowing for self-alignment during reflow.

The L0402 offers an inductance range of .82nH to 6.8nH.

Pricing for the L0402 Series ranges from $0.10 to $0.30 in quantity. Delivery is stock to six weeks.
