Lux + Associates named agency of record by Health Sciences South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C., July 13, 2007 - - Lux + Associates, Inc., has been selected as agency of record by Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC) as of July 1, 2007.

HSSC is a statewide collaborative composed of Clemson University, the Medical University of South Carolina, the University of South Carolina, Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, Palmetto Health, and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System that is using health sciences research to advance the economic and public health of South Carolina. Lux + Associates has worked with HSSC on a project basis since its inception in April 2004. As agency of record, Lux + Associates will work closely with HSSC’s new president, Jay Moskowitz, PhD, and the member organizations to strengthen branding and increase awareness of the collaborative’s numerous initiatives among key stakeholders on state and national levels. This will include communications strategy development, orchestrating major announcements, providing media relations, and helping to communicate, specifically what’s happening with the Endowed Chairs programs, to state government and agencies related to research. Commenting on the selection, Lux + Associates president Melanie Lux said, “We are very pleased that the six HSSC member organizations were in agreement that our firm was most qualified to represent them. The fact that our becoming agency of record coincides with the naming of HSSC’s first president is remarkably good timing. It is a tremendous opportunity to help advance the efforts of HSSC and in so doing improve South Carolina’s economy and public health. Dr. Moskowitz begins his role as HSSC president September 24. Until then, Lux + Associates will continue to work with executive director Judy Cotchett Smith.
