McColl School of Business and Ernst & Young Host Entrepreneurial Panel

Local Entrepreneurs Share Personal Experiences, Discuss Road to Success

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte and Ernst & Young have partnered together to bring more than 150 Charlotte area entrepreneurs and business leaders to the McColl School to initiate meaningful dialogue and garner support of entrepreneurship in Charlotte and the surrounding regions.

The program, called “War Stories,” is an annual event hosted by the Entrepreneurial Leadership Circle (ELC), an exclusive group of almost 70 entrepreneurs involved with the McColl School. “War Stories,” taking place on Wednesday, May 9 at 6pm, will feature a panel of three entrepreneurs who will share their stories of struggle and triumph in building their own businesses. Following the panel, the McColl School of Business will host a cocktail reception for all attendees honoring this years' Charlotte area Entrepreneur Of The Year nominees in the Siskey Rotunda of the Sykes Learning Center on the Queens campus.

This year, the ELC has partnered with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards program, and will welcome the program’s past finalists, award recipients, judges and sponsors to attend this event. The panel, which creates meaningful dialogue around entrepreneurship and discusses perspectives on innovation, creativity and risk-taking, was modeled after Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award master panel discussion at the Spiro Center at Clemson University.

Panelists for this year’s event include Mary Tribble, president of Tribble Creative Group; Michael Vadini, CEO of Titan Technology Partners; John Granzow, managing director of The Granzow Consulting Group of Wachovia Securities; and Michael Pandich, managing director of Connexus. Chris William, senior executive consultant in the Private Wealth Management Group of Wachovia Securities and executive producer and moderator of the regional PBS television program “Carolina Business Review” will moderate the panel.

Each year Ernst & Young, through the Entrepreneur Of The Year awards, seeks to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs around the world. An independent panel of judges will select the finalists and award recipients on May 10, 2007. The judging panel will base their decision on numerous criteria including company growth, leadership, innovation and the story behind the nominee’s success. The McColl School of Business will host the judges for their day-long deliberations this year in the school’s state-of-the-art Sykes Learning Center, For more information on the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program, please contact Amanda Dudley at (704) 331-1925.
