Members of Congress to Tour NC State, View ‘Ethanol Corvette’

N.C. Rep. Bob Etheridge and Pa. Rep. Tim Holden will conduct a biofuels tour at North Carolina State University on Monday, March 12.
The congressmen will visit a number of NC State labs and centers to learn more about various research enterprises in alternative fuels. They will also get a glimpse of a Corvette fueled by ethanol, which is being developed by NC State researchers and members of the Advanced Vehicle Research Center.
The congressmen will view the ethanol Corvette at 1:15 p.m. in front of NC State’s McKimmon Center, located at the corner of Western Boulevard and Gorman Street in Raleigh.
Media coverage is invited.
Besides viewing the car, the congressmen will tour a biological and agricultural engineering lab that works to convert agricultural feedstock into biofuels; a lab that studies animal waste as an energy source; and a lab that studies converting wood chips into ethanol.
