Minor Shaw Elected to S.C. BlueCross BlueShield Board
COLUMBIA, S.C., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueCross BlueShield of South
Carolina today announced that Greenville businesswoman Minor Mickel Shaw
was elected to its board of directors.
A native of Elberton, Ga., Shaw now lives in Greenville, S.C., where
she serves as president of Micco Corp., a family investment corporation.
She previously worked for C & S National Bank of Georgia, C & S National
Bank of South Carolina, and Manly Investment Group in real estate
development.
A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Shaw
also received honorary doctor of humanities degrees from Wofford College,
Spartanburg, S.C., and Furman University, Greenville, S.C. She has held
numerous leadership positions in health and human services and education
non-profit organizations, and serves on the boards of business and
financial institutions.
The Greenville News named her to its "Top 25 Most Influential" list,
and she has won myriad local and statewide awards, including the state of
South Carolina's Order of the Palmetto Award, the Greenville Chamber of
Commerce Chairman's Award, the Urban League's Whitney Young Humanitarian
Award, and Philanthropist of the Year.
