ACS OnDemand™ for MAC® Clients Released
Florence, SC, September 3, 2008 — ACS Technologies, the church management software solutions leader, recently released a new company innovation: the ACS OnDemand application for Apple® Mac users. "This application is truly the first of its kind on the market in the church management software industry," states Manager of Client Information Technology and Services, J. Mark Williams. "This is exciting not only for our clients but for our company as well. We are also in the process of developing a Mac application for our PDS OnDemand clients that will be available in the near future."
"No other church management software company has released an application of this type that works in Mac only environments," continues Williams. "The biggest advantage of this new OnDemand application is that it allows our Mac clients to access their ACS People™, ACS Financials™, and ACS HeadMaster® applications anytime, anywhere via the Internet—without using any type of Microsoft Windows™ emulation software (i.e., Parallels Desktop® for Mac). Now our Mac clients can work outside the office as easily as our Windows™ clients, receiving all the benefits of ACS OnDemand," states Williams.
ACS OnDemand is a flexible hosted solution that provides churches and their staff the ability to work outside the office, increase data security with automatic backups, and reduce IT maintenance with seamless upgrades and updates. ACS OnDemand provides 24/7 Internet access to the church’s ACS data via a thin client download, allowing church staff and volunteers to work anytime, anywhere.
"The new OnDemand Mac application works on the Mac OS X v10.4 Leopard® Operating System (or later) and runs on any hardware platform," says Williams. "All our clients have to do is download the thin client application and then access their information on our secure servers."
Palm Valley Church in Mission, TX, currently operates in a mixed Windows and Mac environment but is moving towards a Mac-only environment. Mitch Idol of Palm Valley states, "Our transition to the Mac OnDemand application has been seamless. We have noticed an improvement in our administration since switching to the OnDemand Mac application because we no longer have to move between a Mac-based operating system to a Windows-based operating system to get our work done. The online interface works smoothly, and we did not experience any problems transitioning to the Mac OnDemand application from the Windows OnDemand application. I am definitely a Mac proponent and would recommend it to other churches that operate in a Mac environment."
Schools also benefit from the OnDemand Mac application. Bayou Talla Children’s Center in Kiln, MS, was looking for a Mac-only solution to use in their pre-school program. Glen Dastugue, the Bayou Talla administrator shares, "For the first time in our church’s history, our staff truly has no limitations when comes to accessing all of our data on our Apple/Mac computers. Our efficiency has improved as a result of the entire staff having access to their respective parts of ACS™ and Headmaster™ from their individual workstation. Our transition from the Windows-based to the Mac-based OnDemand application is the first data transition we have ever experienced that was absolutely flawless! For the churches, preschools, and daycares that are a part of this huge growing trend toward Apple/Mac, not only can I recommend Mac OnDemand, but as a matter of stewardship I must."
