Nominations Being Accepted for Second Annual Best Places to Work in South Carolina

Columbia, SC – Setcom Media, publisher of the Charleston Business Journal and SCBIZ, is once again partnering with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Society of Human Resource Management, and SC JobNetwork.com to promote the second annual statewide competition of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. The competition is open to any company that employs 25 or more people in South Carolina, and the deadline for entry is May 18, 2007.
Coordinated by the Best Companies Group, the program encourages companies in the Palmetto State to focus, measure, and move their workplace environment towards excellence. Companies go through a comprehensive survey and assessment process of their policies and procedures, and there are no limitations on the types of organizations that may participate.
All participants will receive an assessment tool that may serve as a benchmark for measuring future performance. “The assessment report can be a valuable tool in assisting companies develop strategies that will not only enable them to be competitive in today’s fast-paced business environment, but also help them recognize the type of workplace setting that can attract and retain a talented, productive workforce,” said Bill Settlemyer, executive publisher and owner of Setcom Media. “We are pleased to be part of this important program which has the potential to make a positive impact on South Carolina’s economic future.”
Last year, 15 South Carolina businesses and organizations were recognized, including Colonial Supplemental Insurance, South Carolina Bank and Trust, First Reliance Bank, Shred First, LLC, Buist Moore Smythe McGee P.A., the South Carolina Educational Lottery, Life Cycle Engineering and Time Warner Cable – SC Division.
