Development
Business Editors/High Tech Writers
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 11, 2001--NuVox Communications, a rapidly
growing, facilities-based integrated communications provider, announced today
that Matt Siemens has been named Executive Director of Business Development.
In this position, Siemens will pursue new business for NuVox through
strategic relationships and acquisitions. Bringing 13 years of industry
experience, he comes to NuVox from Maple Optical Systems where he was Vice
President of Product Marketing, responsible for all aspects of product
management, marketing, development, and training.
"Matt's vast experience in the communications industry is a strong addition
to our team, from product development to business plans to raising capital,"
said Mike Morey, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for NuVox. "He
will be a tremendous asset for us as we build this important segment of our
business. Moreover, his role will help us serve the needs of customers who may
be left with few options as more of our competitors close their doors abruptly."
"In today's environment, service providers are looking for options that
help them make necessary changes while many customers are left to seek new
sources for much needed communications," Siemens said. "NuVox's business model
and its set of services have proved to be a strong, viable option that can meet
the needs of providers and their customers."
Previously, Siemens was Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing for
NewTERA, an optical exchange carrier. There he was responsible for creation and
development of the business plan, equity fund raising, investor relations, and
other duties. Siemens also served as director of Next Gen Product Marketing and
Marketing Operations for integrated communications provider Electric Lightwave.
A frequent speaker at industry forums and events, Siemens was a
Communications major at California State University at Chico and received
several national awards in speech and debate.
