About CMOT: The Carolinas MicroOptics Triangle is a partnership between three complimentary universities—Clemson University, University of North Carolina Charlotte and Western Carolina University. CMOT was formed in 2002 to formally synergize the three technology platforms for technology advancement, local education support, support to local companies, and economic development for the region. Optical technologies from CMOT provide critical support to the following core industries of the region: Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, Defense/Homeland Security, Life Sciences and Telecommunications.
