Princeton Review Ranks College of Charleston Among Best in Nation
The College of Charleston has been ranked as one of the nation's best
institution for undergraduate education according to the 2005 edition of the
Princeton Review College Guide. The Best 357 Colleges gave the College of
Charleston a grade of ''94'' out of a possible ''100'' in the Quality of Life
ranking.
In this prestigious guide, 106,000 students rate their schools and also share
their insights and comments. Specific citations from the Princeton Review about
the College of Charleston include:
"...for the students who prefer smaller, more intimate classes where there can
be a lot of discussion, group activities and a better professor/student
relationship."
"Charleston's programs in the sciences, math, languages and the classics are
particularly competitive."
In a section called "Students Speak Out" the Princeton Review cites student
comments such as: "The professors at Charleston honestly pour their souls into
teaching their students and are dynamic and animated in class."
The Princeton Review is a New York City-based company known for its test
preparation courses, admission and education services, and books. It has
conducted the survey since 1992, when it first published its annual "Best
Colleges" - the only guide offering college rankings based on student ratings
of their schools and reports of their experiences at them.
The College of Charleston is a highly respected student-centered public liberal
arts and sciences university located in historic Charleston, South Carolina.
Founded in 1770, the College offers its approximately 10,000 undergraduate
students an exceptional educational experience - one that emphasizes
intellectual growth through research opportunities, co-curricular activities,
and study abroad.
