Professor to be Keynote Speaker at International Conference
April 06, 2007
College of Charleston Professor Kelly G. Shaver will be the keynote speaker at the 18th Annual International Gateway to Entrepreneurship conference at Saint Louis University. His presentation is entitled “Cross-Campus Entrepreneurship”.
The Gateway conference brings in teachers, researchers, and practitioners to discuss emerging issues in the field of Entrepreneurship. Each year there is a different theme to the conference, reflected in the choice of the keynote speaker and the workshops, which are usually wide-ranging in scope and bring in new ideas.
"Nearly 20 years ago, the Gateway conference was the first Entrepreneurship meeting I ever attended, so I'm especially pleased to be returning this year as the keynote speaker," commented Shaver.
"The Gateway conference has been at the cutting edge of Entrepreneurship for years, so it is especially important that this year's meeting will be devoted to Entrepreneurship through the curriculum," Shaver continued.
Shaver is a Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at the College of Charleston. Prof. Shaver’s current responsibilities include the development of an Entrepreneurship Concentration within the School of Business and Economics, and the development of an Innovation minor for students in Arts and Sciences.
