SC Bio Seminar Series: Intellectual Property and Patents

You are invited you to attend the SC Bio Seminar Series for 2007 on the campus of the Greenwood Genetic Center. These lectures are free and open to the public. They concern business and science topics related to entrepreneurship in the life sciences. Subject areas include biotechnology, intellectual property, and business development. These professional development issues are of interest for all entrepreneurs and business professionals with particular application to professionals in the life sciences.

Our next lecture is Monday, Jan. 22, at 1:30. Mr. Chip Hood will discuss “Intellectual Property and Patents.” Mr. Hood is the Executive Director for the MUSC Foundation for Research Development.

Mr. Hood’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Clemson in Electrical Engineering and a law degree from USC. He has been a practicing patent attorney for several years. He is also currently pursuing a PhD in Bioinformatics at MUSC.
