SC Women's Business Center Offers Workshop to Help Businesses Capitalize On
Being Woman or Minority Owned

The South Carolina Women's Business Center is sponsoring a workshop designed to
help businesses capitalize on being Woman or Minority Owned. The workshop will
be held from 9 am to 12 noon on Thursday April 29 at the Upper Savannah Council
of Government Offices at 222 Phoenix Street in Greenwood, SC.

The workshop will include such topics as: Identifying and qualifying prospects
that benefit from using WOBs/MOBs, marketing and sales strategies that leverage
the WOB/MOB status, Examples of ''rules of engagement'' for doing business with
some specific establishments and agencies, certifications and registrations –
what's necessary, what helps and what is a waste, and other critical ''How To''
information.

The registration fee is $45. Interested persons can register on the SC Women's
Business Center website www.scwbc.org or by calling 803-461-8900.

Janet Christy will be conducting the workshop. Christy is President of South
Carolina based consulting firm Leverage & Development, LLC. The firm develops
customized marketing plans and conducts specialized workshops for Woman and
Minority Owned Business. The firm also works with government; education and
non-profits in grant writing, economic development projects and vendor
negotiation.
