Wilson McQueen: A Clean Burning, Highly Efficient, Non-polluting Multi-fuel Alternative to Diesel and Gasoline Internal Combusti

Imagine an invention that offers a clean burning, highly efficient, non-polluting multi-fuel alternative to current diesel and gasoline powered internal combustion engines.

Picture a future in which we are less dependent upon Middle East Oil.

Experience an environment in which the air we breathe is scrubbed and contaminating particles are removed by incineration in a motor that cleans the air instead of polluting it.

Understand that the working fluid is de-ionized water.

The Schoell Cycle Cyclone Heat Regenerative External Combustion Engine/U.S.PATENT NO. 7,080,512 has mixed multi-fuel capacity, being able to run on diesel, gas, kerosene, alcohol, bio-derived fuels, blends of liquid fuels, LPG, natural gas, and hydrogen. It is environmentally friendly as it contains no petroleum lubricants, releases far fewer emissions than conventional internal combustion engines, and runs quietly with very low exhaust temperatures.

The Mark II develops 18 hp and is configured as a stand-alone generator package producing 10 kW for marine and other uses. It is simpler to manufacture, operate, and service than conventional engines of its size and burns far less fuel for the power developed. This is achieved not as a result of complexity as the engine has fewer moving parts than internal combustion engines, but from its design sophistication in managing heat.
Basically, the Cyclone Engine operates as an inter-related system of heat exchangers, which conserve and deliver the maximum heat to the piston combustion chambers in the form of vapor under high pressures and temperatures where it behaves as a fluid, thus delivering high efficiency and achieving minimized heat losses.

The 6 cylinder Mark V Cyclone is a radial configured engine of 100 hp and intended for off and on road applications including stand alone generators. Unlike spark and compression ignition engines, it requires no starter motor, external radiator, muffler, or even transmission. Being a ‘clean’ engine, it requires no cumbersome catalytic system or smog pumps. Compact, lightweight, powerful, efficient, clean burning, and quiet, this engine represents a breakthrough in technology that has numerous technical and economic advantages over the latest light or heavy-duty alternatives. It’s also multi-fuel capacity and is self-starting, self-cooling, and, due to its high torque output, sacrifices neither power nor payload to a power absorbing, weight increasing transmission. It is engineered to include both an internal reversing gear and variable cam timing to optimize its performance over a wide speed range. The internal multi-phase pumps serving the system of heat exchangers include step-up devices to deliver additional charge to the combustion chambers required for immediate, rapid acceleration.

Bear in mind, that for a 350/lb engine of 38-cu/inch displacement, it develops over 700 ft/lbs of torque. Transpose the decimal to 380 cu/inches and you will appreciate the implications of this technology when a manufacturer scales the Mark V Cyclone to a size suitable for heavy road transport or stationary generators of up to 4,000/hp.

The Cyclone engine could indeed release us from foreign oil dependency as well as help clean the environment that we live in. For R&D information contact:

Plans are underway to commercialize the first engine for the generator market through a South Carolina-based company TETRAD Cyclone Energy Corporation (TEC) in partnership with the R&D company, Cyclone Power Technologies, Inc. The successful launch of the first engine for a 10 Kw generator is conditional upon funding support for its late phase market research and for the initial set up of a manufacturing facility in the South Carolina region. Funding for this technology at the state level and/or interested Angel/VC investors will bring significant employment opportunities to South Carolina.
